A pergola by a house in the Mazury region
Spending time outdoors is essential for our physical and mental wellbeing. It doesn't matter how you do it. As long as you have an outdoor space where you can have a cup of coffee, meet with the family, or simply relax after a hard day's work, you have the chance to improve your quality of life. One of the best ways to get this kind of space is to put up a pergola next to the house. The owners of the pergola in this garden in the Mazury region, which we had the opportunity to build, know this.
Why did the owners decide to have a pergola by the house?
Although the space between the house and the fence is quite narrow, it was not adequately shaded. The sun was giving the owners a hard time. A pergola by the house is a simple but elegant outdoor structure that offers shade and privacy while enhancing the overall aesthetic of the house. By constructing it, the owners can make full use of the outdoor space and dine there, receive guests or simply enjoy the fresh air without the blinding sun.
How did we build this pergola by a house?
When designing this pergola, we've opted for a typical Scandinavian wooden construction. As the place where it was to stand is well sheltered on the sides, we've used a minimum of slats and boards. However, the roof constitutes a slightly unique solution. In this case, glass could let too much light through, while fabric is not practical because of the surroundings, so we've made the roof out of reed matting.
What have the investors of this pergola gained?
Thanks to the simple design, we were able to provide investors with what they needed - shade and a comfortable space to relax. However, it did not stop there. We knew that because of its proximity to the house, the structure had to be consistent with its appearance. We took care of this by making the façade from the same wood as the pergola. Thanks to this the entire piece looks very coherent and aesthetically pleasing.
